What can my child expect in Vision Therapy?

Your child will experience vision therapy as a series of games and fun vision exercises. Our warm, caring doctor and staff will ensure that he or she will have an experience which will not only be productive for their vision, but enjoyable and comfortable as well.

Vision therapy exercises are designed to improve your child’s hand-eye coordination, eye-tracking, and focusing. These vital skills will contribute to their reading abilities, school performance, and day-to-day life.

Besides the traditional vision therapy equipment which we use to help your child, we implement the strategic use of computer-based exercises as well, which will be enjoyed by them as any other “video games.” It is important to us that children in vision therapy have fun and stay engaged, so that they will be able to maximize their time with us. We will generally see your child once a week for 45 minutes in-office, which will be accompanied by 15 minutes of interactive, engaging homework.

If your child has lazy eye, double vision, or is cross-eyed, we would like to tell you about how vision therapy can make a big difference in their education and life. If your child has difficulties with reading, writing, or focusing in class, vision therapy, we can also determine with you if vision therapy can be used to address these issues.
